Nausori International Airport sits about 23 km from central Suva, on the Nausori side of the Rewa River. If you have an early Fiji Link or Northern Air flight, or you land late from Labasa, Savusavu or Taveuni, staying in Nausori instead of the Suva CBD saves you the cross-town drive and the peak-hour traffic on Kings Road.
This guide covers where the airport is, which flights use it, what to look for in a place to stay nearby, and how the Garden Flat at SPACES Fiji in Nakasi, Nausori works for travellers on the move.

Where is Nausori Airport?
Nausori International Airport (airport code SUV) is on the south-east of Viti Levu in Fiji's Central Division, just outside Nausori town. It is operated by Fiji Airports and is the main airport for Suva, even though it is in Nausori.
From central Suva the drive is roughly 45 minutes, according to Wikipedia's airport entry, and longer at peak hour. Staying in Nakasi or Nausori puts you on the airport side of the Suva–Nausori corridor, so the drive on the morning of your flight is much shorter.
Which flights use Nausori Airport?
Nausori handles mostly domestic flights and a handful of regional routes. Most international visitors to Fiji arrive through Nadi. Airlines listed for Nausori include:
Fiji Link (Fiji Airways' domestic airline): Labasa, Savusavu, Taveuni, Kadavu, Nadi, Rotuma and other islands, plus Funafuti in Tuvalu.
Northern Air: Labasa, Savusavu, Taveuni, Levuka, Gau, Moala and Nadi, according to its website.
Nauru Airlines: Nauru.
Routes and schedules change, so always confirm with your airline before you book your stay.

Why stay near the airport instead of in Suva?
A later alarm. An early domestic flight from a Suva hotel means leaving before dawn. From Nausori, you save most of that drive.
Less traffic risk. Kings Road between Suva and Nausori is one of the busiest stretches in Fiji at peak hour.
More room for the money. A whole apartment with a kitchen and laundry often costs less than two hotel rooms in the city.
Easy parking. Useful if you have a rental car or family dropping you off.
A calm night between connections. Travellers heading on to Labasa, Savusavu or Taveuni can rest close to the terminal.
