One Apartment or Three Hotel Rooms? Group Accommodation for Six Near Suva

A group of six visiting Suva or Nausori usually ends up booking three hotel rooms, three bills and a lot of time in corridors. A whole three-bedroom apartment keeps everyone under one roof, with a kitchen, a dining table, laundry and parking for the cars.

This guide is for families, wedding parties, sports teams and work crews of up to six. It covers the choice between hotel rooms and an apartment, which area of the Suva–Nausori corridor suits a group, and how to get six people around.

One apartment or three hotel rooms?

Most hotel rooms are set up for two or three people, so a group of six usually needs three rooms. That works for a night or two. Over a longer stay, the differences add up:

  • Shared space. Hotel rooms have nowhere for six people to sit together. An apartment has a living room and a dining table for meals, planning and catching up.

  • Food. Three meals a day for six, eaten out, is a big part of any trip budget. A full kitchen lets you shop at the market and cook.

  • Laundry. A washing machine and dryer means packing lighter, which matters on domestic flights with small baggage allowances.

  • Parking. Groups often travel with two cars or a van. Off-street parking saves looking for spaces.

  • One booking. One reservation, one check-in and one point of contact.

Hotels still make sense if you want daily housekeeping, a restaurant downstairs or a pool. For a family or team that wants to stay together, an apartment is usually the easier option.

Where a group should stay on the Suva–Nausori corridor

Suva, Nasinu and Nausori sit along about 20 km of Kings Road. Central Suva suits short business trips, but whole apartments with parking are easier to find further out. Nakasi sits between Nasinu and Nausori, about 15 km from Suva and 5 km from Nausori town (Wikipedia), close to supermarkets, takeaways, function halls and the airport side of the corridor.

Getting six people around

  • Hire a people mover or two cars. The easiest option for a group that has places to be at different times.

  • Buses: Nakasi is served by four bus companies. Nasese Buses, Nairs Transport and George Transport run to Suva, and Island Buses runs to Nausori (Wikipedia). Fares are paid with a prepaid e-ticket card (Fiji Guide).

  • Taxis: Nakasi has three taxi stands on the main road (Wikipedia). A group of six will need two cars.

  • Plan around traffic. Kings Road is busiest in the morning and evening peaks, so leave early for anything in Suva.
